LOADLESS design principles

OUR APPROACH

DESIGN
PRINCIPLES

Everyday products ask something of the people who use them: time, attention, energy and space.

We believe they should justify what they ask in return. These principles guide what we create—and what we leave out.

01

Begin with the load.

We look beyond the task itself.

Carrying. Storing. Measuring. Organising. Replenishing. Remembering.

This is often where unnecessary effort accumulates. We design to remove as much of it as we can.

02

Remove before adding.

More does not always make something better.

Before adding a feature, product or step, we ask what can be simplified, combined or removed without losing what matters.

03

Seek enough.

We do not pursue less for its own sake.

We seek enough.

Nothing essential missing.
Nothing unnecessary added.

04

Build one connected system.

Every product should make the wider system easier to choose, use, store and replenish.

As it grows, it should remain clear, familiar and connected.

05

Keep performance essential.

A lighter system still has to work.

Every product must first perform its intended task reliably. Only then do we ask how it can demand less from the person using it.

06

Respect attention and choice.

Good design should support everyday life quietly.

It should reduce unnecessary decisions, while leaving people free to choose what suits their home, routine and needs.

MAKE LIFE LIGHTER

Every LOADLESS decision returns to one question.

Does this remove unnecessary load without removing what matters?

If it does, it belongs.
